Biography:
Sereen M.B.BatainehearnedherPhDfromtheUniversityofWesternAustraliain2012inMicrobiologyand Forensic Sciences, BSc and MSc degrees in 2001 and 2004, consequently, in Applied Biology from Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). She joined JUST in 2011 as full-time lecturer in the Forensic Science program, and promoted to Assistant Professor in 2012. Dr. Bataineh has published her work from postgraduate studies in international Journals andConferences.
 
Her passion for all things microbial came from childhood where she gained an interest in disease and how to find out what causes them. Her curiosity from childhood grew and she quickly wanted to progress her career through her PhD and research so she can contribute back to humanity to help solve world problems.
 
Dr. Bataineh was Assistant Dean during the Academic year 2013. Her duties involved reconstruction of the study plan for the Forensic Science program and supervision of student training program. She was also a member oftheAccreditationCommitteefortheHigherEducationAccreditationCommissionfortheForensic Program. She has also organized an open-carrier day for Forensic Sciencecommunity.
 
Dr. Bataineh is the first Jordanian who designed a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and one of a few academics in the Arab world. The course is free and offered with Open2Study Australia. The course is the first online course combining Microbiology and Forensic Science. Recently Dr. Bataineh was appointed as an expert with the Arab League, Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALESCO) and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Open Bookprogram.
